Heart Evangelista’s Latest Venture, Pure Living, Elevates At-Home Spa Experiences

This article is more than 2 years old.

Actress, social media personality and entrepreneur Heart Evangelista shares a love for wellness and skincare with her sister, Camille Ongpauco. As young teens, their mother inculcated time-honored beauty habits, which would later inspire them to build a proudly Philippine grown beauty brand. Heart begins, “Even before the pandemic, we’ve been wanting to create a beauty brand as a culmination of our wellness journey.” Busy schedules of the pre pandemic life kept the sisters occupied, leaving little time to sit down and work on their passion project.

“When the pandemic hit, that’s when we decided to finally work on this project,” disclosed Camille. “Instead of letting our worries, anxieties and stresses get the best of us, we focused instead on the creation of Pure Living.” Heart adds that events of the pandemic also inspired them to develop a business model for their company that would empower other women to become their own bosses. She explains, “We created the partnership program so that women who want to build their own business could find opportunities through Pure Living.”

THE LUXELLE LIFE

Heart is a social media phenomenon, especially where luxury, beauty and style are concerned. “Sometimes, people would randomly message me to ask about the products I use, even the food I eat. When we developed Luxelle, we wanted make the very best of beauty products and devices accessible to everyone.” she says. Through Luxelle, she is able to share her beauty and wellness secrets and empower others to lead the same “Luxelle life.”

Every product from the brand was imagined, developed, tweaked and perfected by both Heart and Camille. Heart says that her sister is the bigger skincare enthusiast of the two, but they agree that, “We are both very meticulous with wellness and beauty.” The same high standards that inform their everyday routines guided the curation process for their business. They went through rigid research and product development. Countless prototypes were created and modified to ensure that they were up to par. Camille adds, “The products we launched were extremely narrowed down. We wanted to start with the basics—ideal for the everyday routine”

AT-HOME BEAUTY DEVICES THAT ACTUALLY WORK

It’s often the case the at-home devices—beauty wands, LED masks and anti aging—can only deliver a fraction of what spa-grade equipment guarantee. It’s also not uncommon to hear of celebrities merely attaching their names to products solely for branding purposes. And so it comes as no surprise that many are reluctant when it comes to investing in at-home beauty and spa devices. That both Heart and Camille poured all their energy and passion into the brand immediately marks a difference.

Experiencing its products first hand, has also turned even the most discerning of beauty enthusiasts into believers. In my drawer there are three beauty wands, two LED face masks, two facial rollers and three gua shas tools. I haven’t use any of them since getting my very own Luxelle RF Beauty Wand.

Ergonomic design glides seamlessly over facial contours even with minimal products applied. Intuitive controls and multifunctional features also allow for customization of treatments. There are five modes to choose from that include: skin tightening, lifting, enhanced absorption of products, relaxation of muscles and minimizing of pores. What impressed that most was that heating, cooling, LED light and radio frequency were set to levels that truly rendered results.

After a gentle and thorough cleanse, apply an even layer of The Gold Elixir Serum to help bring back skin’s youthful radiance. Infused with licorice extracts, this ultra gentle formula also lends anti aging benefits and helps keep hyperpigmentation at bay. To achieve maximum absorption of this 24K gold skin elixir, massage the face using the RF Beauty Wand. Complete your skin indulgence with the firming and illuminating Luminous Face Cream with 24k Gold. Heart expounds, “We both have extra sensitive skin so we made sure that all our formulations are gentle on skin.

Luscious Luxelle Locks

A massage comb to stimulate hair growth was one beauty product I didn’t think I needed until I tried one out. Luxelle’s Low Laser Growth Comb is a gem to have on your bedside, boudoir and in your bag. It’s sexy, sinuous silhouette can be likened to contemporary sculpture. The sisters share, “We went through several iterations to get the design and shape that would make it easy-to-use and carry around while on-the-go.”

Using LLLT Low Energy Laser, electric pulse technology and high frequency sonic vibration, the Growth Comb stimulates the scalp to support healthier hair. It addresses bad hair days by minimizing oil production of scalp and itching or flaking. Laser light and pulse and sonic frequencies also boost blood circulation, supporting hair growth. Heart discloses, “We have thin, fine hair. I also always have to deal with oily hair. So we came up with a device to help address these issues.”

Apart from benefits this device brings to scalp and hair care, regular use of the comb also promotes relaxation. As the brush glides between locks, a soothing electric current massages the scalp, immediately easing away all tensions and stresses. Before tucking in for the night, a few minutes going through hair with the Growth Comb soothes the senses for a good night’s sleep. You also wake up the following day with bouncy, grease free and lively hair. It’s sexy bed hair—but better.

Beauty In a Time Of Pandemic

According to Heart and Camille, starting a beauty business like Pure Living in the midst of a pandemic couldn’t have been more perfectly timed. It was an outlet for them both that helped them redirect worries and stressed into more productive pursuits. Just the same, it saw the fruition of a dream long left in the back burner by busy schedules.

They intimate, “We really meant to launch despite the pandemic. Not everyone is comfortable going to their spas or dermas and so the product we created and curated were inspired by this. We meant to really bring that premium spa experience to everyone’s home—and make it accessible for everyone.” Heart adds, “We also made sure that the partnership program was set in place so that we could help others build their businesses and earn a profit in the comfort and safety of their homes.”
